Candidates Background

The County Commissioner position is far beyond the 1950's road shed idea. With the population growth in Madison County the demand for basic infrastructure, roads, schools, water treatment facilities and public safety services have increased.

At this time, Madison County needs, foresight in growth management, policy, and economic development.

Chris Stuckey the candidate for District 1 Madison County Commissioner Is a small business owner that is certified through the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) in transportation planning. A myriad of experiences and accomplishments of graduate and post graduate studies, through mentorship in the department of Community Development and Urban Studies at Alabama A & M University have been achieved.

While working at the Alabama A&M University Center for Urban and Rural Research, Chris Stuckey’s primary responsibilities included demographic, social and economic research, socioeconomic assessments, forecasting population, wage and salary analyses. Stuckey’s proficient understanding of data analysis is principal to making sound policy and statue development.

His experience as an Y2K project manager for the Boeing Company prepared him to lead teams in critical times while providing optimal support with positive results. In his role as business systems analyst, Chris Stuckey streamlined process and developed polices that saved the company money.

While working at the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, Chris Stuckey collaborated with private business owners and the public schools to provide the School to Work Program which matched business owners with students with like interest, while increasing future employment opportunities for students.

Chris Stuckey is no stranger to the political arena. In the late 80’s, Chris was afforded the opportunity to work as an assistant field coordinator for the Congressman Levin campaign. While attending Howard University in Washington D.C, Stuckey was extended the opportunity to work as a Congressional Intern for Levin. He also worked for the Department of Defense, Smithsonian Special Collections Division and The National Voter Participation Coalition.

Currently, Chris Stuckey volunteers on Governor Riley’s Black Belt Action Commission sub committees which include: Infrastructure, Education, Small Business development and Communications.

Stuckey moved to Madison County in 2000. His family is from the city of Luverne in Crenshaw County, AL. He is married to Dr. Dana Stuckey for nine years this July 4th 2008. They have a wonderful son, Micaiah Daniel that loves to garden, play chess, football, golf and his dogs. Dr. Dana Stuckey has worked as an educator for 19 years. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at two of the local universities. They are very active in their church providing mentorship for students in their neighborhood and church area.

Chris Stuckey has a diverse background that will enable the elected County Commission of 2008 to be afforded a premium vision through experience that equals results for Madison County.
